وتوفي القاضي تاج الدين محمد ابن قاضي القضاة جلال الدين بن عبد الرحمن ابن شيخ الإسلام سراج الدين عمر البلقيني الشافعي في يوم السبت سابع عشرين شهر رمضان ودفن من الغد عن ثمان وستين سنة وكان نائبا عن أبيه في الحكم بالقاهرة وغيرها وتولى قضاء العسكر ثم ترك نيابة الحكم بآخرة إلى أن توفي وكان قليل البضاعة في العلم وخلف مالا كثيرا وعدة أولاد ذكور وإناث وكان من البخل على أمر عظيم حتى إنه كان يبخل حتى على نفسه ولما مات والده قاضي القضاة جلال الدين في سنة أربع وعشرين وثمانمائة وبلغ موته الحافظ شهاب الدين بن حجر وكان إذ ذاك بمكة مجاورا فقال
مات جلال الدين قالوا ابنه يخلفه أو فالأخ الراجح
فقلت تاج الدين لا لائق لمنصب الحكم ولا صالح
قلت أراد بصالح التورية بقاضي القضاة علم الدين صالح أخيه رحمه الله تعالى

Judge Tāj al-Dīn Muḥammad, the son of chief judge Jalāl al-Dīn b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. shaykh al-ʾIslām Sirāj al-Dīn ʿUmar al-Bulqīnī al-Shāfiʿī on Saturday the 27th of Ramaḍān. He was buried in the morning at the age of 68. He was the nāʾib of his father in ruling over Cairo and its environments and was entrusted the quḍāʾ ʿaskar. He then left the niyābat ḥukm until he died. He was little learned in science. He left much money and a number of children -male and female. He was very stingy, even for himself.
When his father died, chief judge Jalāl al-Dīn, in 824 and when his demise reached ḥāfiẓ Shihāb al-Dīn b. Ḥajar -who was then staying in Makka, he said: ... .
