The sultan next arrested ʾAsandamur, ʾIsmāʿīl al-Turkumānī, Kizil al-Qirimī, ʾĀqbughā al-Bajāsī, and Sarbughā, and gave them into the custody of the wālī of Cairo. The Sultan also arrested and imprisoned 11 other amirs, namely Quṭlūbughā al-Ṭashtamurī al-ḥājib; Ṭuqṭāy al-Ṭashtamurī al-Ṭawāshī al-Rūmī; ʾĀlabughā al-Ṭashtamurī; Qarābughā al-Sayfī; ʾĀqbughā al-Sayfī; Baybuqhā al-Sayfī; Ṭaybughā al-Sayfī; Muḥammad ibn Baydamur ʾatābak of Damascus; Jibrīl al-Khwārizmī; Manjak al-Zaynī; and ʾArghūn Shāh al-Sayfī. By the Sultan’s orders ʾAsandamur al-Sharafī raʾs nawba, ʾĀqbughā al-Ẓarīf al-Bajāsī, ʾIsmāʿīl al-Turkumānī, Kizil al-Qirimī, and Sarbughā were then crucified and after being paraded through Cairo were taken to the rubbish hill (al-kūm) and halved at the waist - a form of punishment which no ruler before him had inflicted on an amir, but to which al-Ẓāhir now restored because of the resentment which he harbored toward them as a result of their activities against himself.
