During the battle, amirs Ḥusām al-Dīn Ḥusayn ibn al-Kūrānī, wālī of Cairo, and Maʾmūr the great chamberlain give permission to the ʿāmma, on behalf of al-Nāṣirī to plunder Minṭāsh’s mamlūks, and to bring them to al-Nāṣirī. But they are put to flight by the Minṭāshīya.

The wālī then closes the city gates.

Minṭāsh addresses the ʿāmma and distributes gold among them. Thus they were won over to his cause, and help him to gather the arrows shot by the Nāṣirīya and to carry the stones on the top of the madrasa of Ḥasan
