On the same say, Minṭāsh imposed upon each official in the sultan’s bureau as well as in all other bureaus a contribution of 500 dirhams and a horse each; this contribution was assessed upon their offices, not upon the individuals themselves, so that if one individual held ten positions in various bureaus he was required to bring for each position 500 dirhams and a horse.
