وفي يوم الثلاثاء عشرينه: خرج محمل الحاج إلى الريدانية خارج القاهرة، مع الأمير يشبك الدوادار
الثاني، أحد الطبلخاناه وحصل في الجمال شيء يستغرب، وهو أن العادة غلو سعر الجمال عند سفر
الحاج لطلبها، فمنذ قدم السلطان من الشام انحط سعرها، لكثرة ما جاء به العسكر منها، حتى أبيع
الجمل الذي كان ثمنه أربعين ديناراً بخمسة عشر ديناراً.

The maḥmal of the hajj left towards al-Raydānīya, outside Cairo, with amir Yashbak the dawādār thānī, one of the ṭablakhānāh, and he came out on camels, which was a strange thing. This way the price of the camels rose with the leaving of the hajj, because there was a demand for them. Since the arrival of the sultan from Syria the prices of them had decreased because of the frequency of with the army brought them with them, until a camel, that had been worth 40 dinar was sold for 15 dinar.
