ومنها شد الأوقاف وهي بها رتبةٌ جليلة أعلى من شد الأوقاف بدمشق، وعادتها تقدمة ألف أو طبلخاناه،

المملكة الحلبية.

Summary
It has an important rank there, higher than the shādd al-ʾawqāf in Damascus. Usually he is an muqaddam ʾalf or an amir of forty. He is appointed by the august gates, with a tawqīʿ sharīf. Thus I was informed by one of its population. Its appointee is responsible for all the waqfs in the mamlaka of Aleppo.
