Minṭāsh continued making his preparations until on shawwāl 7 sultan al-malik al-Manṣūr invested him with a robe and entrusted to him the entire administration of affairs, and Minṭāsh thus became ʾatābak al-ʿasākir as Yalbughā had formerly been. %inṭāsh’s purpose in having this appointment made was to indicate that he had no designs on the sultanate and that he acknowledged the sovereignty of al-malik al-Manṣūr, son of his master.
