Manjak stays in Damascus until the sultan summons him to Egypt in 775. He entrusts the office of nāʾib as-salṭana in Egypt to him, makes him ʾatābak al-ʿasākir and bestows the control of the state on him. He has to (?), he has to appoint the wālīs of the regions of Egypt, and the kāshifs and he has to divide the ʾiqṭāʿs in Egypt, with an ʿibra of 600 dīnār and less. Before him, the nāʾibs only used to divide of the ʾiqṭāʿs what had an ʿibra of 400 dīnār and less.
