فصل فيما وقع من الحوادث في السنة السابعة عشر بعد الثامن ماية. استهلت هذه السنة, و سلطان الديار المصرية الملك المؤيد شيخ,و ليس له حكم بالشام,و حلب و بلادهما بسبب المتغلبين,والخليفة هو المعتضد بالله داود بن المتوكل على الله,و اتابك العساكر بالديار المصرية الامير يلبغا الناصري. وقاضي القضاة الشافعية جلال الدين بن البلقيني,و القاضي الحنفي ناصر الدين محمد بن العديم, و القاضي المالكي شهاب الدين الاموي,و القاضي الحنبلي مجد الدين سالم العسقلاني, و الوزير بها تاج الدين بن الهيصم. و ناظر الخاص بدر الدين حسن بن نصر الله,و ناظر الجيش علم الدين ابن كويز, و الاستادار العالية فخر الدين بن ابي الفرج,و كاتب السر ناصر الدين بن البارزي. و نائب اسكندرية بدر الدين حسن بن محب الدين, و نائب غزة الامير سودون قرا صقل من جهة المؤيد,و الحاكم على الشام باسرها الامير نوروز الحافظي بحكم التغلب,و نائب طرابلس الامير قمش,و نائب حلب الامير طوخ,و كلاهما من جهة نوروز

Chapter on what happened in the year 817:
The year started and the sultan of Egypt was al-Malik al-Muʾayyad Shaykh, who had no authority in Damascus, nor in Aleppo and their cities, because they had revolted. The caliph was al-Muʿtaḍid bi-llāh Dāwud b. al-Mutawakkil ʿAlā Allāh. The ʾatābak al-ʿasākir of Egypt was amir Yalbughā al-Nāṣirī and the qāḍī al-quḍāt al-shāfiʿīya was Jalāl al-Dīn Abu l-Faḍl b. al-Bulqīnī. The Hanafite qāḍī was Nāṣir al-Dīn Muḥammad b. al-ʿAdīm . The Malikite qāḍī was Shihāb al-Dīn al-ʾUmawī and the Hanbalite qāḍī was Majd al-Dīn Sālim al-ʿAsqalānī. The wazīr was Tāj al-Dīn b. al-Hayṣim and the nāẓir al-khāṣṣ was Badr al-Dīn Ḥasan b. Naṣr Allāh. The nāẓir al-jaysh was ʿAlam al-Dīn b. Kuwayz and the ʾustādār al-ʿālīya was Fakhr al-Dīn b. ʾAbi l-Faraj. The kātib al-sirr was Nāṣir al-Dīn b. al-Bārizī. The nāʾib of Alexandria was Badr al-Dīn Ḥasan b. Muḥibb al-Dīn. The nāʾib of Ghazza was amir Sūdūn Qarāṣaqal, on the side of al-Muʾayyad and the ruler of whole Syria was amir Nawrūz al-Ḥāfiẓī, because of his victory. The nāʾib of Tripoli was amir Qamish and the nāʾib of Aleppo was amir Ṭawkh, both on the side of Nawrūz.
