That same day, a letter of Yashbak min Mahdī, the kāshif al-Wajh al-Qiblī, arrived, stating that he had appointed Sulaymān b. ʿUmar al-Hawwārī, instead of the son of his uncle, and that he no longer needed a tajrīda. The sultan did not pay attention to his words, regarding not sending a tajrīda to the domains of the Ṣaʿīd. His objective in doing so will be explained infra.
