Three days after the departure of Yalbughā al-Nāṣirī to Syria, a courier arrived from Syria informing that Tamurbughā al-ʾAfḍalī al-ʾAshrafī, known as Minṭāsh, governor of Malaṭyā, rebelled, and allied with the judge Burhān al-Dīn ʾAḥmad, lord of Sivas (ṣāḥib Sīwās), and Qarā Muḥammad al-Turkumānī, and the governor of al-Bīra, and Yalbughā al-Manjakī, and many of the khushdāshiyya of Minṭāsh amongst the mamluks al-ʾashrafiyya. A great group of Turkumān joined him. The sultan was inwardly anxious, but he did not let see this. He regretted to have appointed Yalbughā al-Nāṣirī as governor of Aleppo, but he was striving not to speak.
