وأما أمر منطاش فإنه لما سمع هذا الخبر وتحققه علم أنه وقع في أمر عظيم، فأخذ في تدبير أحواله فأول ما أبتدأ بمسك الأمير قرقماس الطشتمري الخازندار وأحد أمراء الألوف بديار مصر، وبمسك الأمير شاهين الصرغتمشي أمير آخور، وبمسك قطلوبك أستادار الأتابك أيتمش البجاسي، وعلى جماعة كبيرة من المماليك الظاهرية، وتداول ذلك منه أياماً.

When Minṭāsh heard the report of what had happened and was convinced of its truth, he realized that he had fallen into serious trouble and began to make his plans accordingly. His first act was to seize amir Qurqmās al-Ṭashtamurī the treasurer and one of the amirs of 100 in Egypt, and also amir Shāhīn al-Ṣarghitmishī, amir of the horse, Quṭlūbak, ʾustādār of the ʾatābak ʾAytamish al-Bajāsī, and a large number of the Ẓāhirī mamlūks. Similar arrests continued to be made during several days.
