وفى يوم الأربعاء، الخامس من شعبان، أمر السلطان الظاهر بهد الدار التى بناها زين الدين أبو هريرة
بن النقاش فى زوائد جامع أحمد ابن طولون، رحمه الله، وذلك بعد أن عقد مجالس كثيرة بسبب ذلك،
وفوض الأمر للقاضى شمس الدين البساطى، وحكم بهدها يوم الثلاثاء الرابع من شعبان.
وفى غد هذا اليوم ، حضر القاضى وبعض النواب من الشافعى، ونقيب الجيش هناك، وأمروا بهد الدار
المذكورة، فشرعوا فى هدها ، وعموا الهد يوم الخميس، السادس من شعبان. وكان قد وقع مجلس فى
أيام الأشرف فى سنة ست وثلاثين وثمانمائة بالجامع المذكور، ووقع الكلام فى أن فناء الجامع من
الجامع أولا ، وحضرت هناك القضاة الأربعة: شهاب الدين بن حجر الشافعى، ومسطره الحنفى،
وشمس الدين البساطى المالكى، ومحب الدين البغدادى الحنبلى، والقاضى علم الدين صالح البلقينى،
وكان معزولا، ولكنه كان ناظرا على الجامع المذكور وحضر معهم هناك الأمير قرقماس حاجب الحجاب، كان يومئد، وبعد بحث كثير حكم القاضى ناصر الدين الشنشى، بأن فناء هذا الجامع حكمه حكم
الجامع، ونقد حكمه مسطرة وبقية القضاة ، ولم يتكلموا فى الهد إلى هذه الأيام ، التى حكم فيها
الظاهر جقمق، فجرى ماذكرناه.

Sulṭān al-Ẓāhir ordered the destruction of the house Zayd al-Dīn ʾAbū Hurayra b. al-Naqqāsh built, adjoining the mosque of ʿAḥmad ibn Ṭulūn, after it was decided by a great number of councils. The matter was entrusted to al-qāḍī Shams al-Dīn al-Basāṭī, and he authorized its destruction on Tuesday, Shaʿbān 4th.
The following day, the qāḍī, some shāfiʿī nā’ibs and the naqīb al-jaysh were present there. They ordered the destruction of the mentioned house. They publicly destroyed it on Thursday , shaʿbān 6th. A council had already ruled in the days of al-ʿAshraf in the year 836H. It was decided that the courtyard of the mosque belonged in the first place to the mosque.
De four qāḍī’s where present there: Shihāb al-Dīn b. Ḥajar al-Shāfiʿī, the Ḥanafī author, Shams al-Dīn al-Basāṭī al-Mālikī, Muḥibb al-Dīn al-Baghdādī al-Ḥanbalī and ʿllm al-Dīn Ṣāliḥ al-Bulqīnī, who was out of office, but he was still the nāẓir of the mentioned mosque.
ʾAl-amīr Qurqumās, ḥājib al-hujjāb was also there with them at that time. After a thorough investigation, qāḍī Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Shanshī, ruled that the courtyard of the mosque belonged to the authority of the mosque. The author criticized this ruling as well as the rest of the quḍāt. They didn’t discuss the destruction until these days, that fell under the authority of al-Ẓāhir Jaqmaq. What we mentioned, was executed.
