فخف الأمر كثيرًا على الأمير ططر بقتل الأمير الكبير ألطنبغا القرمشي ثم بقتل الأمير جقمق نائب
الشام. ولم يبق عليه إلا الأمراء المؤيدي وكانت لهم شوكة وسطوة بخشداشيتهم المماليك المؤيدية فأخذ
الأمير ططر عند ذلك يدبر على قبضهم وجبن عن ذلك. وتكلم مع خشداشيته المماليك الظاهرية برقوق في
ذلك فاختلفت آراؤهم في القبض عليهم فمنهم من رأى أن القبض عليهم بالبلاد الشامية أصلح ومنهم من
قال المصلحة أن الأمير الكبير ططر يعود إلى مصر ثم يفعل ما بدا له بعد أن يصير بقلعة الجبل فمال
ططر إلى القول الثاني من أنه يعود إلى مصر ثم يقبض عليهم ثم يتسلطن. فلم يرض الأمير قصروه من
تمراز بذلك وقام في القبض عليهم وبالغ في ذلك وهون أمر المؤيدية شيخ على الأمير ططر إلى الغاية
حتى قال له: لا تتكلم أنث في أمرهم وأنا والأمير بيبغا المظفري نكفيك أمر هؤلاء الأجلاب

The case of amir Ṭaṭar became a lot easier after the killing of ʾamīr kabīr ʾAlṭunbughā al-Qurmushī and by the killing of amir Jaqmaq, the nāʾib of Damascus. Only the Muʾayyadī amirs stood in his way now. They were powerful and mighty, because of their khushdāsh, the Muʾayyadī mamluks. So amir Ṭaṭar started to think at arresting them. As he hesitated to do this, he talked with his khushdāsh, the mamluks of al-Ẓāhir Barqūq about this, but their opinions differed about the arrest of them. Some of them thought that it was best to arrest them in Syria, while others thought that it was necessary that ʾamīr kabīr Ṭaṭar would return to Egypt, and then would do what he wanted to do, after having arrived in the citadel. Ṭaṭar inclined to the second opinion, namely to return to Egypt, to arrest them and then to become sultan. Amir Qaṣrūh min Timrāz did not agree with this, and insisted on arrest them. He was urgent in this and pictured the case of the Muʾayyadīya as extremely easy to amir Ṭaṭar. He even said to him: “Do not speak about them. Amir Baybughā al-Muẓaffarī and I can take care for you of these ʾajlāb.
